President's Corner
April 2025
March did come in like a lion and the lion settled in for most of the month. If the forecast holds true, the average daily temperature at the start of March (low to mid 40s) will be repeated as we transition into April.
“April showers bring May flowers” is how the saying goes. While we need the rain, let us hope it comes in without severe weather. It would be nice to get the outside work including antennas completed before the warmer temperatures we all know will come true.
Please thank Tim (KBØYQN) for organizing both Club programs for March. The RF calculation presentation was stellar, with the slides available on the Club’s website, and the cookout was well-attended with some good eats. Again, be sure to thank Tim. We will try to plan more social events like the cookout.
Program ideas are always welcomed. If you have a project that you would like to share, let me know and we will get you on the calendar.
Also note that April is the month that kicks off the 2025 Public Service Event season. Several of the events are listed here in Feedback with a complete list available on the Larry’s List Groups.io page. If you are a new ham, consider volunteering to get a chance to play radio while meeting some other amateurs outside of our Club meetings.

SPECIAL NOTE:
Please remember to monitor the Club’s 145.29 repeater and your email for any changes that may be necessary regarding Club meetings, including any changes in venue or cancellations. With the winter weather upon us and the possibilities of snow, ice and extreme cold, it may be necessary to cancel a meeting or move it from an in-person meeting to a remote/virtual meeting. While as much notice as possible will be given, sometimes last minute changes and cancellations will occur. While it isn’t convenient to make these last minute calls, the safety of Club members is first and foremost.
